Kenny loved making crank calls, while he was drunk. Usually Kenny called his friends; this time he dialed a wrong number.
“Brad! What’s up!!!” He slurred.
“Who is this? Don’t you know it’s 3 a.m.?” replied the voice from the other end.
“You called me, you know who I am” Kenny said.
The agitated man hung up the phone. Kenny kept calling back.
Suddenly, a knock came at his door. An agitated man stood there, holding a gun.
“How did you know where I lived?” Kenny pleaded.
“Reverse number search…found it on the Internet.”
The gunshot rang through the building.
This is my entry into this week’s Friday Fictioneers. The story is based on what I wanted to do with the drunk idiot who kept calling my home last night. Click on the little froggy for more stories.
Dear SNB,
Technology can be a bitch. Good one.
Shalom,
Rochelle
you made me laugh with that comment…could be that it was really funny….or it could be attributed to my lack of sleep last night. Thanks for reading!
The punishment seems a tad “over the top”, but loss of sleep can do strange things to a man.
Good piece.
Now that I think about it, perhaps it was a bit over the top….but he did wake my wife as well…and our three dogs..so there!
Ah, well, in that case, fire away.
Well, the punishment was a bit heavy for the crime, but some people really do need their sleep. Nice one.
Bad idea calling this man at 3:00 am! Paybacks are a bitch!
Damn. Can’t even play a prank anymore! 🙂 I liked this!
I’m sure the judge would understand . Nice one.
Very fun take on the prompt.
Poor drunken fool. Paid the ultimate price for his foolishness… I’m officially unlisting my number! 🙂
#57 will still reveal your number, even if it is unlisted. a charge from the phone company and you have the number…so don’t call me at 3 am
Yowza!!
I wonder if it would be easier to disconnect the phone after that first call…
Too bad it went this far. I bet he gets away – but he probably should pick up the phone and dial several numbers and hang up so that the phone can’t lead the police to him. Well – he should be caught so never mind! Nan
ouch…he was hard hit…loved your note 🙂
Eesh! Evidently this guy never heard the saying let the punishment fit the crime. Maybe he was an insomniac who had finally gotten to sleep?
I was going to use the title “Sorry, Wrong Number” but apparently it was already taken
I dream of doing that to the PPI guy that called me at 5 am the other week. Good story. 🙂
I am feeling sorry for the brewers and the telephone company, one of their top consumers gone. The gunman should have thought of them at least.
I fear they may be next on his list
Ouch, that was harsh. Never prank where everyone has a gun…
Damn, no more crank calls for Kenny.
