The event

It was supposed to be a small gathering,  mostly friends and loved ones; nothing spectacular, just a simple ceremony and a supper afterwards. Of course, her mom didn’t listen. Instead, she went all out and purchased decorations. Not many, mind you, but a few Chinese lanterns, some fancy table cloths, and naturally, a cake.

Everyone gathered in the small kitchen awaiting the bride and groom. While the young couple were supposed to be standing in front of a minister, they chose otherwise, visited the local Justice of the Peace, eloped and left town.

I hear the guests enjoyed the cake!

  1. We eloped, in secret, but married for family and friends several months later. Loved both weddings, made us, and them happy. Loved your interpretation of the photo.
