I remember
When I was a kid
Mom would get so mad
when we left lollypops in our pockets
and the linings stuck to the candy.
My favorite were the black ones
with their liquorice taste
so sweet
yummy
sticky
even
made
my
tongue
turn
black!
I loved
them so
much
sometimes
I ate
the
fabric
too!
Ah Childhood
check out Rochelle’s cool website and write your own Flash Fiction!
Well sure, that’s what it is! Great description.
Yep, I remember that. Waste not, want not. 🙂
Dear Ted,
Wonderful tale taken right out of a kids pocket on a summers day. You put a lot of thought into the format, too, and the execution was spot on.
Aloha,
Doug
Dear Ted,
Incredibly clever. I love not only the story, but the shape of it as well. Bravo!

Rochelle
Nothing beats licorice — I would probably still eat the fabric
Nicely paced. I especially liked the last line, where lint is no object to candy appreciation.
Wow! Eat the fabric, really a lollypop lover. I like the story style, easy and funny to read.
Very good!
Oh, hey, I just realized, you shaped the poem like a lollipop. Clever you.
Dear Ted, Hope that is your name. Love the way you shaped your poem to a spoon – very, very clever. Cute poem and childhood WAS as great as I remember it. This is so good! Nan 🙂
it was actually a lollipop shape, but thanks for the comment
Great childhood story, and the graphic was inspired. 😀 Now Guapo’s caught the fever. Well done. 😯
